Week 12- Friday, March 26th

This week has been a little crazy. I feel like I have been on a rollercoaster all week (I’m usually scared of rollercoasters but this one wasn’t too bad). Overall, I would rate it a 4. It was good but it had its moments. And by “moments”, I mean times when I didn’t think Friday would ever come. Having all of the kids here 5 days a week has been a change but it has been a nice change. I love seeing all of their smiling faces every day. They love all being together.   This week, something that I would consider an accomplishment is making it through the first week of having all of our students back. It was definitely a challenge, but I made it! Another accomplishment was having my first job interview! Even if I don’t get the job, I am very proud of myself. I never thought the day would come (especially so quickly) that I would interviewing for a teaching position. My experiences this week taught me to be more confident in myself. I get very anxious for a lot of things and the i...

Week 11- Friday, March 19th

Once again, we have come to the end of another week. At this point, I honestly can't keep track of how long it has been. I can't believe that I will be finished with my 10 weeks in a short couple of weeks. I will give this week a 4 out of 5. It wasn't the best week but it definitely wasn't the worst. It has been getting a bit more stressful with beginning to apply for jobs and trying to wrap everything up but I know I can do it.  A pleasant surprise this week was that the county just posted several jobs on the website. So I am in the process of applying for these jobs. Hopefully, things will go well but if not, I will continue to apply. My experiences this week taught me that I will be planning a lot more lessons. All of our kids are coming back five days a week beginning on Monday. So my lesson planning document is a lot longer than usual. This tells me that I will definitely have to start planning early so that I do not overwhelm myself. My short-term efforts of stud...

Week 10- Friday, March 12

I would give this week a 4 out of 5. It was a little more relaxed because I didn’t have to stress about EdTPA. But I still had a lot to do.   Something that I feel that I accomplished this week was simply the ability to breathe a little. I feel like I wasn’t stressing as much as I usually do, and I consider this an accomplishment. A lesson that I learned from my experiences this week was to prepare myself a little better. I always come prepared for each day but sometimes I could prepare better. All of my students come back 5 days a week soon and I need to be fully prepared because it will be a lot different. My short-term goals of planning lessons and beginning my portfolio are aligned with my long-term goals of successfully completing student teaching and passing edTPA. I could have spent more time at the beginning of the week working on my lesson plans. If I did this, I would be able to relax a little more at the end of the week. I usually get most of it done on Wednesday ...

Week 9- Friday, March 5th

This week was a 4 out of 5. I think it was a 4 because it wasn't awful and I feel accomplished. Finally submitting EdTPA has lifted a lot of stress from my shoulders. I am now anxiously awaiting the results. Overall, this week was successful. It was also a bit stressful because I was trying to perfect my EdTPA tasks while teaching and writing lesson plans for next week. But I made it and I am proud of myself. I have gotten a lot further than I ever thought I would.  My biggest accomplishment this week was definitely submitting EdTPA. I put a lot of hard work into it and will hopefully receive results that prove that. Now that it has been submitted, I will have more time to focus on my lesson plans for each week, my portfolio, and teaching. A lesson that I learned this week was to continue to manage my time more wisely. I am doing better than I used to, but I could always do better. My short-term efforts of creating lesson plans, teaching successful lessons, and submitting EdT...
